About Us

Repello is the brainchild of husband and wife duo Utkarsh and Amishi.

They have been using citronella oil in their own home and their family's home for the past 15 years to make their home smell fresh. They loved the lemongrass and citrusy scent of the oil. 

But the journey of Repello began when on a trip to Sri Lanka, they discovered that Sri Lankans used citronella oil in many different home made products to keep mosquitoes at bay. This got them thinking that the oil they used, could also be used to keep mosquitoes at bay. 

Back home in Mumbai, the idea had still not taken shape in their minds when one day, a couple of their friends complained that even though they cleaned vigorously, their home always had mosquitoes. The friends also remarked that their home seemed to be surprisingly free of mosquitoes, despite being in the same building!

That's when Utkarsh and Amishi had their 'aha' moment and they created sample bottles of their oil to give to friends in the building. After giving friends 2 weeks worth of supply they asked them if they had seen any difference in mosquitoes. The friends replied with excitement that they had seen a huge drop in mosquitoes and that their house smelled amazing!

This was the beginning of Repello. After testing their theory, Utkarsh and Amishi used citronella oil as a base to create an amazing blended product for the home that used high quality ingredients and could help protect the entire family from mosquitoes and mosquito related illnesses.

During COVID, team Repello also added a natural, ayurvedic disinfectant to the oil that could help protect the home from other viruses as well.
